Well first of all, titles are different from one company to another. At one place a Sr Director might be defined as a 10 year veteran while at another it's 5 years of experience. At banks for example, a VP has 5-8 years of experience while VP at hospitality is more like 10-15.
Second, hospitality salaries are on average lower than other industries but you get good benefits. Is the role analytics related? Their salaries aren't a match for what other companies pay for senior experienced data and analytics talent in the area (especially after Amazon's HQ2 news) so they try to compensate by hiring younger people and growing them in the company.
I was offered a job there once and was shocked at how low the pay was - the offer I received was lower than my current salary at the time and even lower than when I had worked at a not-for-profit. The hospitality industry is known for not paying well. Certainly don’t let this one experience deter you, but it’s something you should be aware of.
Yeah, Glassdoor equates a Sr. Director to around 150-200k total comp, which is pretty low, but 6 years of experience to me is closer to a manager/senior manager, are their titles just weird? It’s just odd so far ever since I looked into it
Low end of Comp and years of experience line up with Manager. Higher end of comp lines up with Exp Manager or new Sr Manager
