It’s not about being perfect, no one is perfect. Just do really good work and be someone that others want to work with. It’s amazing how many times someone is really good at their job but alienates their co-workers. No one wants work with someone like that.
Had this at my current company.
Training for 3 months, with tests every Friday. It was mandatory to pass with 75% or you’re out.
We started at 35 and ended training at 18.
It’s stressful, and was absolutely not worth the risk in hindsight, it really screwed some of the people who got fired.
I have, I declined it, too risk adverse
Honestly, be a good learner. It’s not about knowing everything but your ability to pick up concepts. I started as a temp and got hired full time
Yup. They usually have different stage gates for you to pass in terms of tests/ assessments and actual project experience.
If you got an offer and you do all the training and do well and each stage, you should be good to return full time
I have, the trial/contract salary was 300K and they would only tell me the actual salary was less. They also wanted me to move my family cross country before the trial was over which would have cost my husband his job. I turned it down.
I did it once because I was out of a job. It worked out fine. I don’t think I’d do it though had I been already employed.
