Yes, absolutely. It’s not a “fun” process
Yeah definitely esp when you have personal connections with coworkers or liked the work generally but something better came along - part of life
Not when you were in a toxic environment
Currently replaying the different ways I’ll give notice in my head whenever I need a pick me up.
For me, giving notice was harder than the interview.
Not. At. All. I know if the shoe were on the other foot, the firm would give me notice without a thought. This is an employment at will relationship, it’s very different than my personal relationship.
Nope. Best day ever.
I cried when giving notice and then again like six different times talking to/saying bye to partners I liked lol. Slightly embarrassed about it but at least it conveyed how much I loved working there. I still keep in touch with most of those folks
Yes, and a lot of apprehension. A few years out—it was absolutely the right call and my life is meaningfully better. The prior form wasn’t a bad fit, which made it hard, but my current firm is just streets ahead.
Don't understand why you'd feel guilty/bad about giving notice. You are doing what is best for you, and that is the only thing that matters. You don't owe your firm (or your coworkers) loyalty.
