Using declare, set function in SQL and in my declare function I am returning the following error:
“Cannot coerce expression (SELECT SUM(…”

Can’t find anywhere as to what this error means.

Although when I run the set query by itself, the sql does run correctly. But the error seems to occur when I add the SET function and using an open and close parenthesis around the query I am setting my
Variable to. Any idea as to what is causing this error?

Hey everyone, using SQL does anyone know how you can sum the top N records and return one output? Is a RANK function needed? For example top 10 items with sales all summed to return one value.
