Anyone have insight on what changed in the tax industry that guarantees lay-offs are coming? Just curious bc the entire 2020 tax year will be busy season for me. Is it just me that feels like tax cpas are underpaid to begin with?! Always understaffed and overworked? Who would agree to a 20% pay cut in a senior or staff position?! Id take the opportunity to make career changes but unfortunately work for myself.

Why TCS basic is so low, Currently IBM pays me 68k monthly basic with package 20 Lpa and with TCS offer of 28 lpa i suppose to get only 40k basic? Is it wise to join TCS considering this?

currently tossing up between staying at a global company (who is in the process of some positive changes) with an amazing manager who supports my career and flexible working … however comes with the inherit issues that come with a long standing global company

compared with a role at a smaller mga, higher salary (around 30%) more , more visibility career wise and some great employee benefits , management seem to be supportive and low staff turnover

I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?

Have interviews set up at FAANG co and getting good signals, for a position that was posted widely (all across US) but not remote. Haven’t broached the subject of location yet. Would you (1) early on clearly state that you’re not open to relocation but that you would be open to visiting a big office once or twice a month; (2) not say anything now and wait to get an offer and ask for an exemption; or (3) something else?
