Following, had a recent denial based on the same

What exactly was the denial?

For anyone experiencing this type of denial, there’s guidance on AILA now on this particular issue as well as a template AILA put together in filing a MTR.

Hi there! Hoping to go to law school for immigration law next Fall. I’m interested in business immigration (really to pay off debt and get stable financially) but eventually want to help refugees and asylum seekers in some capacity years later. Is switching areas of focus like that easy to do? Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

Hi - looking for direction: I’m about to file my citizenship application without a lawyer (after 5yrs of permanent residency). I filled out the N-400 form myself. At the end of the form it’s asking to upload any documents/evidence. How important is it uploading documents and what exactly is preferable to upload? (ex: foreign passport pgs, univ degree, employment verification?). It didn’t specifically require to upload copies. Would my case be denied if I don’t upload anything? Thx in advance

Recently started my own firm and interested in others thoughts. Are there resources out there for practical advice or is it only something that comes with experience? For example, I can take let's say a 601A client and use the resources available to me to learn how to do it. But if a client asks me is it better to marry my fiance in her home country, bring her here on a K-1 or have her visit on a B-2, that's not learned from a book or webinar. How does one learn how to evaluate new cases?

I am an senior associate at a small (8-10 attorneys) immigration firm in NYC. My base is 110k and I get 30% for the cases and clients I bring in. My revenue was 370k last year and I did 250k till April this year.

My issue is, I have so much firm's work that I have hard time to work on my cases/clients. It feels like my cases are supposed to be done after hours (like after 6 pm). My work hours are crazy. I feel this is unfair and since my firm's taking 70% of my sales. Should I ask for a raise?

I have a client (employer) that wishes to hire a worker that is currently in an H2B visa. Two questions: 1. Do I use the same 9142B to apply for the change of employer, and 2) because it is a change and extension (he is on year 2) it won’t count against the quota?

So I just had a client tell me their asylum case is fabricated, and can't I help prepare the person for court. My initial reaction, fire the client. I'm not that kind of atty. But I hear so many talk about finding a balance and not turning ppl away bc ultimately they need a defense and who knows what will come up along the way. How would you handle? How do you find the balance btwn not turning clients away but not being unethical?

Representing a client pro bono in a defensive asylum case scheduled for a merits hearing this week. Government has agreed to dismiss and we have fully signed and filed a joint motion to dismiss. Any chance the IJ denies our joint motion? I'm prepared for the hearing but curious if IJs still get credit for resolving the case in this scenario. Thanks!

Average salary, Immigration attorney:
Anybody know average salaries for 1st year associates in immigration firm? The team consists of 2 attorneys, 2 assistants & 1 receptionist. Located in Metro Atlanta. 1 year of experience, bilingual. TIA!

What is average number of clients to have per attorney? I know it always depends on practice and firm, but I'm wondering if there's a general amount?
