AS is a great TMT shop. Heard hours are brutal.
Note that's not to say Delta wasn't strong in growth strategy and CDD work, it just wasn't all that they did, and I'm not personally knowledgeable about how strong they were in that area
We view Altman as a credible competitor in TMT.
Heard Delta partners has been doing faring quite poorly financially for the past 2-3 years (hence the acquisition).
Apparently there has also been a trend of leaders from boutiques moving into large t2, mbb and big 4 because the proposition of doing 1-2 months of pure strategy work has been somewhat impacted by the covid situation. The E2E (think strat to ops to implementation etc.) and account focus seems to have be more popular with corporate clients.
But TMT deal activity seems to have risen significantly so AS should be in a good place for the next 1-2 years for CDD work. Open question on how long this will sustain.
Anyone can further validate?
I think (just rumors) they got acquired during covid because their pipeline dried up. It wouldn’t surprise me if this was the case, all the major consulting firms in Dubai stopped hiring during that period, and they are (were?) really ME-centric.
Also, I agree with AS1 - you can see on LinkedIn a lot of their Partners already changed their position to “Senior MD @ FTI”. I guess the brand will be slowly absorbed by FTI.
Also just another thought - AS has grown their HC by 30-40% within the past year.
Is this driven by the boom in deal activity? Havent seen such aggressive growth - anyone has any thoughts on whether this is sustainable?
We also work on most of the major IT services deals, so that’s at least a few dozen CDDs per year
Hey, noticed that AS recently opened multiple offices around the globe (Singapore & Australia in 2021, Mexico in 2020, Milan & Paris in 2019). Is there any collaboration across international offices? Also, since the offices seem pretty new, I’m interested to know if the main type of client work is similar to the US offices (eg tmt start and cdd).thanks!
Solon (the European side of AS) already had a strong European-centric pipeline, so it doesn’t really matter where you’ll be staffed as long as there is some project starting in Europe (and we have more demand than we are able to supply apparently).
The new offices were mainly opened to attract local talent and get some new Senior hires (you can check that on LinkedIn)
