Did anyone click this to see what those negative benefits were, then feel disappointed when they weren’t here?
You get priority checkin and boarding, they will give you a front or exit row as a priority elite and lounge access for you and your travel companion including the layovers. I think those are plenty flying a partner airline.

@McK1 Plus your dog has a better chance of arriving alive at the correct destination!
^OP that was really incoherent, I honestly can’t even tell what you’re trying to say.
1. SkyTeam Elite Plus have access to Delta/KLM lounges when flying internationally
2. SkyTeam ElitePlus members can check 2 bags free of charge on international KLM flights.
3. How is it that you both used a global upgrade certificate and had to pay for your own premium economy seat? And I guess you’re upset because you were in the last seat of premium? Did you book last minute or just not think to pick your seat on booking?
Overall this sounds very weird/whiny and again, incoherent. I would be interested in more details such as did they actually turn you away from the lounge? Did you tell them that you’re elite plus and have access? Same story for when you went to check your bags?
Anyone else experience similar situations? Thinking about switching to United. Anyone have opinions?
I got 2 free checked bags flying within Europe on KLM so that was nice
What did you want as benefits?
^M2, and more than United gives you.
If you’re Delta diamond, unless your home airport is LAX or you live equidistant from EWR, JFK and LGA, you probably don’t live somewhere that has enough United flights to make a switch worth it. But I wouldn’t recommend a switch to UA for anyone unless you’re moving somewhere like San Francisco or Houston where they have dominant hubs.
I saw a coworker get upgraded to business via British airways with much less pain than I had trying to use the global upgrade certificates. Did not get any lounge access. I had one bag and that was free, but I’ve seen every airline with no status give 2 bags free so i don’t see how that would have been a benefit. I paid for my own “Delta comfort” equivalent seat - otherwise i was sitting in the furthest row back. The whole experience felt like i was starting over unless I shelled extra money
