Hi, did anybody ever experience wrong tax calculations by JPMC Payroll/tax team ? Or is there any specific month where they deduct more tax. Huge amount of tax deduction is done for Oct payout. From my CA’s calculation the amount deducted by JPMC team looks wrong. Anybody experienced this?

Hi All! I hope you guys are staying safe and healthy.
I am hosting a free workshop for teachers that I thought might benefit you. The workshop is called From Unsettled to Prepared Classroom. I am giving you the tools you need to feel organized and ready for this upcoming school year. There is so much that is still uncertain and it can be super daunting to start to plan for a year like this one.

What questions do you have? If you already have CoS you’re in good shape. Did EY provide you with instructions for visa / BRP card?
Yes. Just completed the application and made an appointment for BRP collection. Paid the IHS fee and am about to pay for my application. EY mentioned they would reimburse me for the visa fees but was wondering if anyone knew about reimbursement for expedite processing fees.
Also, how strict are the work start dates? I still haven’t booked my flight and can’t imagine doing so until I have my passport with new UK visa in my possession. I think the work dates in my CoS will be outdated.
I think there’s a line about not arriving more than 30 days before your start date. As for expedited fee reimbursement, that’s not covered at my firm, but EY might have a different policy.
I didn’t get my visa until last minute so I had already booked my travel before my visa arrived, but I suppose that was a risk .
Do you know if I can travel anytime after my start date? Realistically I could see myself headed out anywhere 2-5 weeks after my start date depending on flight availability. I’d like to spend 2 weeks finding an apt in London prior to working as well.
Ah. No idea. Does EY have an immigration contact available to you?
Do you have any suggestions for finding apartments and neighborhoods btw? 25 year old male coming in from NYC with budget around £1500/month.
If you’re single, that’s a decent budget. London is a large spread out city, so make sure you consider transportation.
As an example, our office is near London Bridge Station (I walk by EY office when I go in), so I found a house close to a stop on a line that goes direct to London Bridge.
London is big enough that the right neighbourhood is hard to recommend. A lot of my colleagues stayed in AirBNBs for a while to avoid a mad rush to find an apartment.
Also, I highly recommend getting a bank account you can use here before you arrive. I use Monzo, but you can set up an international account at Lloyd’s or Barclays that will make it easier once you get here. Landlords want you to have a bank account and banks want you to have a local address.
Also, apartment hunting is different here. You don’t just search online and ask to see a place. Send your criteria to a few agencies and they send you options (the websites often show unavailable properties).
If you like, you can DM me and we can schedule a chat to answer more of your questions .
@OP, how long did u work at EY before getting sponsored? It's been my dream to move to London.
Wondering what a $125k equivalent would be in London. Any knowledge on this anyone? Know cost comparison tools but looking for a human answer.
