Anyone here familiar with the hiring process of KPMG consulting in Van? Had a partner interview on Nov 21, thought the feedback was positive but haven't heard back yet (no rejection/offer). Is it something normal or the interview just didn't go as well as I thought?

It's an experienced hire for an SC role. I saw the posting is still open atm, and my guess is that the recruiting team is comparing candidates since competition is higher due to recent layoffs.

Thanks in advance!

That might just be the case. KPMG is a hug company after all. How long have you been waiting for a call back since the interview? It would probably take 2 to 3 weeks or even 4 weeks maximum. I would definitely send a follow-up after the 3rd week.

like

Yea I guess the fact that we're close to Christmas didn't help with the internal timeline either...Thank you for the advice!

Have you followed up at all? November 21st wasn't that long ago, so they could very well still be considering your candidacy, but following up with the recruiter will reinforce your interest and give you an idea of what to expect. Best of luck!

like

No, I have not, was waiting for the 2-week mark. Thank you!

Curious, what are you expecting for comp?

Probably near the lower end of their SC band. Salary isn’t a major driver for me.

Probably late to the party, and assume you’ve heard back, but what’s the group? Assuming you mean an advisory group since you called it KPMG Consulting vs audit/tax.

I wouldn’t say huge company is a reason since each of the advisory groups has a dedicated experienced hiring manager.

They may have had a bunch of candidates and/or just moving very slow to hire the right person.

DM me if you still haven’t heard back (Director in Advisory).

To all new hires that came into KPMG with experience, I wanted to ask how much were you able to negotiate from the initial offer in terms of %? If you were a high performer in the interview that would be helpful as well. Running into a case where the initial offer is lower than market average but it’s on the high side of the salary band for the position. It’s a senior associate position and it’s an engineering role.

I’ve already exited consulting and don’t care to go back. Have MS from a T10 relevant to my field and no plans to change industries or vertical. Mid-30s in a mid-level strategic role in F500. Would my MS and experience suffice, or do I really need the EMBA for advancement?

Today during HR Interview i was informed that they can offer me only 15 including 5% vp... Which was very less as I already have informed them during the first screening round for 17-18 LPA.

Hr said my application will reject for 17 for sure so she will try for 16.5 otherwise they can give 16 LPA

I am ver unsure, I am going to complete 4 years soon..

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I have a coworker who keeps spouting comparative odds and situations in regards to the safety of the vaccine. Such as: you're twice as likely to get hit by lightening than have blod clots from JJ. Living in Van. Previously lived in Toronto. Obviously rent prices are high as is cost of living. Generally go out and spend more often living in a city. Boyfriend and I on good salary but not saving much due to the above. Before we move home to our own country, we’d love to spend a year close to Vancouver where rent is cheaper, temptation is less, to save. A commute to Vancouver 1-2 times a month needs to be possible (his job). That can be a flight if it’s not crazy. Thoughts? Recommendations?
