Having worked close to BCG Platinion I am sure that they will downlevel you a lot, but this is far from being bad. I dont want to say that consultants from big four or other firms are any less than MBBers, on the contrary, I know a lot of brilliant people that came from other firms, but the fact is that in BCG, for you to survive long, youd have to manage a lot a lot of stress, trainements are better, mentorship is way more structure and people that stay tend to be the percentage that endured... I've seen people with ~16yrs of accenture going to a job that it would take 7-8yrs to be at if they were in BCG since the beginning of their careers... Same goes for BCG Gamma, I've seen data scientists with 10-12 yrs of industry (included 2-3 yrs of accenture) that ended up as a 3 yrs of tenured Data Scientist (SDS position) after being hired... It is a little bit cruel to watch a 40+ yr old DS in the same position as some 25 yr olds that decided early on their life that they wanted a fast track career... but that is life, unfortunately.
The main takeaway here is that.. if you are stucked in a non-mbb company, you feel you want to generate some more impact and definitely get out of your comfort zone this could be a good idea..
You will definitely gain career momentum and likely earn some extra bucks if you negotiate reasonably, but it wont be easy
Never got to thank you for your detailed reply ☺️. But here it is, thanks :)!
Will be definitely useful for others who may search the posts.
Yes it is but they’ll down level you a lot.
Thank you :).
It seems in the meantime/in the end that I didn't pass the first selection with HR (YOE and professional experience is very much aligned with what they were looking for the role, but something didn't go well 🥲)
