Just venting here… At WAS for an adjustment interview based on an affirmative asylum and the officer said he’s never done and affirmative adjustment before… and questioned my client when he said that he has never been in proceedings. Officer said “I don’t agree with that, I think you *have* been in proceedings” when we submitted the affirmative asylum approval and I had to show that to him smh. Why aren’t they training these officers 😭

I’ve been prepping for MBB for months but I know I’m still not ready. I’m struggling with staying structured and with creative questions. I’m really frustrated because I feel like I’ve put in so much work but I’m not where I need to be to make it. I know if I interviewed today I wouldn’t make it through.

Any tips on leaving a firm “correctly”? Was about to go “of counsel” with my firm of 6 years, but then another firm whose partners I really respect (and personally like) offered me a partnership position. I predict my current bosses will *flip* (cut off file access immediately, try to beat me to calling my clients, etc.), so how do I set myself up for a successful transition?

I'm a product engineer and it's hard to turn off work mode at the end of the day, I think of how products *should* be packaged when I'm shopping and can't understand why my wife doesn't care 🤷

So I had my NIPT and NT scans last week and I’ve been getting pieces of the results back from my doctor in the patient portal. All seems okay but I’m a bit confused. Does anyone know if FirstScreen is the same thing as NIPT? I was under the impression that NIPT was in 90th percent of certainty for Down syndrome but the result we got, labeled FirstScreen indicate 83% certainty so I’m confused if there are more results coming? I messaged the doctor but haven’t heard back yet.

I have completed my B.Tech. on 2020 and got a job in an MNC with a 3.8LPA, but due to COVID, the onboarding was delayed to Feb 2021. During this time, I had enrolled myself for a distance M.Tech. degree.
I recently joined a new company with a 10.1LPA a month back.
Just two weeks back, my M.Tech. degree is completed.
Should I have some increment in my new company as to my M.Tech. completion?

Does anyone have experience breaking up w a therapist? I've been seeing my therapist for 5+ years for eating disorder treatment and we've been through so much together, but I don't think she's able to help me anymore. While I've stopped my ED behaviors, they've evolved into OCD, and I'm finding that her methods might be making it worse. I think I want to try an OCD expert instead. I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Anyone have general tips for this situation?

If she got ~$100k in signing bonus in 2019 for 1 year commitment in CA and started FT in July 2020, assuming she leaves before July 2021, can her employer claw back full amount in California? Some say it's much tougher to do so under CA law but wonder if anyone has any insights. Banks won't likely care about analyst signing bonuses, but associate bonus at EB with diversity bonus can be significant. If she quits before, she won't be going to another bank.
