Anyone know anything about this whiskey? My family has had this bottle since before I was born (age 27). I can't find anything on this

Seems like Mason & Summers was a distillery bottling mass market targetted whiskies. Sir Terrence was a blend that was aged 5 years or 12 years.

I don’t think it’s going to be a particularly expensive bottle. If you are into whisky it’s nice to taste old bottles as their flavour tends to bring out more leathery/old books type of notes.

smart

Part of me wants to try it, another part of me wants to just keep it lol

Wasn’t a distillery it was a bottling plant that would run extra capacity and contract bottling for major distillers. When it had free capacity it bought casks or used ‘over runs’ and made blends for the export market. This is one. I’m afraid it is likely to be truly unremarkable in terms of taste or financial value. Sentimental value however………

Body: Light bodied.
Nose: I smelled banana and nuts.
Palate: Some wood elements and black pepper.
Finish: A bit rough with an afterburn, and a hint of sweetness.
Verdict: It's a no go for me. I do like the Suntory Toki though.

I don't know a ton about bourbon and am trying to pick out something for my boss. Out of these two Kentucky bourbons which would you choose and why? What should I be looking for in terms of quality? I don't really know him very well so I need something good.
