I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

If the goal is to win a grant then sounds like that was a way to increase chance of the renewal.
Sadly, social equity/AA programs are designed to help underrepresented but it often results in gaming the system to win grants, etc. For example a lot of women owned businesses are run by their husbands. And I’ve seen several businesses recruit a POC to be the named business owner to win a license but they don’t have much involvement in the business.

Is this the first incident of this kind or is this a common occurrence?
This reminds me of the tea from Brown Table Talk! Definitely check this podcast out! And no, you’re not overreacting.
Yes you’re probably overreacting. You don’t know all of the VP’s reasoning.

Did they write she was Black/Latina/Asian on the grant application? I’ve never heard of specifying staff’s race for particular tasks on a grant application.
Yes
