Twice. And both times by idiot men.
The first came out of the blue for political reasons (I worked at state government and word got out i was supporting the opposition) and it took me 3 months to find a job. I took anything bc I wanted to avoid the gap, but thankfully a recruiter reached out to me shortly after and I quit that job to find a better job that put me on a really great path to where I am now.
The other job I got fired from was when I was already looking to leave because i felt the partners were unethical (and who later got sanctioned), but it worked out really well because I had another job lined up and had accepted an offer. I got fired two weeks before Christmas and got to collect 2 months severance pay, so it was almost like a paid vacation lol.
Moral of the story: you'll land on your feet. Take what feels right but if you end up needing to take what you can to survive, it won't be the end of the world.
I’ve been fired from a couple legal jobs and I was able to have something lined up prior to leaving. I’d recommend reaching out to your contacts
I was fired from a government position for political reasons. While it happens all the time, I felt insulated because of my performance reviews. Ha. I waited until I found something that fit. At times, it was very discouraging. However, I am very happy where I am! It was worth the wait!
If you are good, be confident. You’ll land.
Kind of? But I was already deep in the interview process and was just waiting for an offer.
