What is the Deloitte MSP Team? Is it consulting?
Hello Gang, I’m on the business side for Walmart right now. Walmart Global Tech recently offered me a role to move to the San Bruno office, but I’d be taking a demotion from L6 to E5. YOE: 8, COMP(200k base, 25% bonus, 100k RSU). Is this competitive in the bay? I have Doordash and Instacart in the pipeline, but no final offers yet.
I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?

Have a 3rd home (condo) there. It’s on the beach, which I really enjoy. Lauderdale is more laid back than Miami but still very active. Good arts / theater venues. Good restaurants - Las Olas area is great. A1A a bit touristy but Ft. Lauderdale beach is fantastic. Airport is good and very easy to access. I’m early 40s for point of reference. Plan to snowbird once the kids are off to college.
Orlando. Migrated from the NE as well. Haven’t looked back.
Thanks everyone. Going to give FLL a try, likely going to get a short term rental for a couple of months to make sure I like it.
Also, anyone have a perspective on boat ownership? Debating joining a boat club vs. buying. Thinking in the 33-38 ft range.
Also looking for somewhere that’s not effectively a retirement community.
Nice , how’s Tampa ?
I’ve been in Tampa for 9 years. I like the west coast way better than east. Also, Tampa is top 3 cities on all investor lists right now. Great place to move to.
I have lived in jacksonville and although more laid back that Ft lauderdale, the young crows is growing really fast.
Get a rental down there for a few month- before season- and see how you like it.
I live in suburbs of FLL, just moved here from NJ. Love it, get the best of both worlds, travel for work to great places, on the weekends and remote weeks get to hang out in my pool or at the beach. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Hey I also just moved to FLL suburb about a year ago and doing the travel thing from here is great. Airport is convenient but not sleepy, and my only “regret” is that it’s already been a year and of course because of the job I don’t get to do Florida stuff as much as I would like to. That being said, getting on a flight to FLL EVERY TIME I need to go home is pretty great!
This! I want that pinch me feeling when I get off the plan!
St Pete is great
Fort Myers but old people vibes sometimes
Ft Myers is a lot of old people vibes 😂
Look south of Miami. It’s close to the Keys and very laid back. FLL in my biased opinion is “spring breakers gone wild surrounded by their grandparents”
