I second MC1’s question
@mc1 I had finserv industry experience for 6 years
@d1 are you asking because it seems low? I interviewed Deloitte strictly for salary intel and offer for manager was 12k less.
This is in NYC. Slalom doesn’t have a locked hierarchy, so the next step could be a senior client partner, a senior sales exec, a practice director, or higher-paid principal if you just enjoy your work. No up-or-out mentality and no “choosing a path." Best of all, no locked industry to work in!
P1 - I LOVE that aspect (not locked to industry)
@op it’s quite awesome. I did fashion then retail then a hospital then a hotel. All top 5 brands in their industries and travel is optional by design here (no one can expect you to travel but you can offer it on your profile).
@op no cadence rules on travel. It’s per-project and based on your own conversation with your client counterpart (not dictated by the firm or your manager). I personally have accepted 2 types of travel so far:
Kickoff trip + wrap-up trip
OR
3 days a week every other week
I take about 2 projects with travel per year if they’re in fun places or clients I want to explore. I “turn off” my travel preference whenever I want.
P1 - That sounds like what every firm should operate like - AWESOME
@p1 What city?
P1 what experience did you have prior to first year at slalom?
169k for principal?
🍿
D1 - Too low?
Hey OP - depends 100% on what market you’re in. Where are you looking?
🍿
SC1 - Midwest market
What’s higher than principal?
SC2 - How many years at each pay level for you? Were you still a “Consultant” all the way up until SP? What’s SP mean?
