Anyone taken the Amtrak north from LA to San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara? Is it a nice ride with views? Worth taking an extra hour or two compared to driving?

I’m trying to get my grandmother (81yrs old) travel medical insurance for a trip to the US, where I live. She’s in good health and lives in South Africa. I can only find travel insurance options for those who are aged 80 or below.

Does anyone know of any companies that offer senior travel/medical insurance (81+) or have any other recommendations? Or does she just come without travel insurance?

Hello, I just had to vent a little and maybe ask for your opinion. So I’ve been working at my job for four years now and I’ve never gotten a promotion. On top of this, I do extra duties that my coworkers don’t do and struggle with the work load. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of and am not sure what to do. I don’t understand how someone can lie about loving you for 6 months. We were together for almost a year (broke up a week before our anniversary). I said I love you first and he said it back. - my new office is in the west adams neighborhood, so ideally we'd want to be within a half hour drive from there.
- we're looking to rent a house or bungalow if we can, our budget maxes out at about $3500/mo. is that feasible?

Hi! I’m moving to LA from Chicago, base 90k - no debt. I live in a 1BD rn and have been browsing the market in LA to get an idea of rent. I’m mainly looking west of DTLA (ktown, la brea, pico rob, etc)it’s seeming like a 1BD may be out of reach. I’m not looking to pay more than $1800/mo. Any suggestions on neighborhoods I should consider? I’d like to be near grocery, restaurants, and would need parking.
