Want a referral to Amazon? Comment below
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Hello 🦈s,
Role: SAP ABAP
Current: 8 LPA
I am having offer from LTI for 10.5 Fixed & 1 Mouritech for 12 LPA Fixed.
I have also cleared PwC India interview & HR has told me that they can give me 10.5 as Fixed (Before 12 offer). I have not yet received the offer letter.
Now my question is will PwC consider this offer for the re-negotiation? Or will they not release the offer letter itself?
Also what should be my ask for a SAP ABAP Developer with experience of 3.3 Years?
Thanks in Advance 🙏

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
What are your book recommendations?

From my experience, yes but flying by standby only.
Used to work at one. The flight benefits vary widely by company. Worked at one that gave 1x/year with heavy restrictions and another that was 5x/year that was fairly liberal in its policies.
But it’s always standby only.

My sister worked for south west and got free flights. Basically you’re on standby for the flight and if the flights full, you’re outta luck. She’s flown jump seat before though which is pretty cool. Hard to plan but if your travel is flexible then it’s doable. She was also able to gift 2 passes to our parents so they flew free as well.

One cool thing they did as new hires was have breakfast on the east coast, lunch in the Midwest, dinner in the west coat - all in one day.
Buddy worked at AA. He traveled all over the world. Yes it was always stand by but on their internal booking system you can see how full the flight is. So he was adaptable but he never got stranded. Sometimes he had to take weird routes home but he just got really good at using the system. No limit on flights but just limits on buddy passes. His parents, partners and kids (if he had them) all fly standby for free. The more years of service you have eventually stand by turns into confirmed flights.
Nice! Did he work in a corporate role there?
I worked for a major airline as a co-op in college and got to fly standby. Domestic flights were free and I only had to pay airport departure taxes on international flights. You can see how full flights are and *attempt* to plan, but things can change. I spent many weekends in college in Europe.
