Okay I’m going to say it if hasn’t been said before: I want the option to go back to the office now. I get some of you have kids or prefer wfh but I can’t stand it. I hate being cramped up and some people also live with toxic family members. We should make it optional for those who want/need to come back
Anyone else really pack on the pounds during work from home? I really blew up - probably gained 40-45 pounds. I feel so bloated and sluggish all the time and none of my clothes fit anymore. I hope I’m not alone.
Guidehouse folks! What perks do you have, i.e. coffee and meals expensed, Uber/Lyfts expensed, flexible/remote work?
On average, how many emails do you get a day during busy season, before and after WFH mandates? For me, probably 25-->100
Hosting a remote training in a few weeks, what are good engaging activities you recommend?
Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
Looking for new HR opportunities, either remote (ideally east coast time) or in NC. Please reach out if you know of places hiring or can refer! Have been applying and interviewing, but nothing concrete yet. Would love some help!
Not proud of it, but I was hooking up with a co-worker/friend pre-COVID. I left the state when wfh started and we still talk every day, but nothing romantic. He made it clear at the beginning that he didn’t want to date because we’re co-workers. Stung a bit when I went on a dating app this morning and saw his profile. The rational part of me knows we’re only ever going to be buddies and that if he actually wanted me, then he’d make something happen. Looking for advice on how to get over this.
I think my firm is going to be moving towards global flexibility regarding work from home. They won't force us to live in certain cities with offices. Where in the US is there a beach or beach town that gets all four seasons? Is such a thing possible? I love the ocean, but Fall is my favorite season.
Which firms are still letting people expense overtime meals, aka WFH hasn’t changed expense-ability?
Has anyone here converted to full time remote employee? If so, did you have to post LCA for 10 days at your home?
Is doing freelance work on the side (when I’m off the clock, of course) considered taboo? Considering signing up for Fiverr to make some fun money but I don’t want any bad blood with my current job because I really like it and am not planning on leaving any time soon. (Sorry if this is a dumb question, this is my first copywriting job out of college and I’ve been 100% remote, so it’s hard to get a feel for things like this!)
Pwc new hire here in NY for advisory. Do we get monitors for WFH? I only got shipped at a laptop!
How has your WFH experience during the pandemic impacted (or not) your sense of loyalty / willingness to sacrifice for: - your team - your client - your firm
To those hired during the COVID-WFH era, how have you adjusted to the work, team culture and company culture? Some background on me, I got my first job outside of college during this wfh era. It was nice in the beginning, but I feel like it’s slowly chipping on my productivity. Thoughts?
Accenture hiring Share your resume at email@example.com Experience band 2 to 12 years. Location Pan India (wfh)
I’ve got an offer for a job I think is going to be much more interesting than my current role and significant pay bump. Downside is it’s permanent WFH and I think part of why I’ve got the urge to leave DT is the lack of people connection right now. Worth it?
Exit opps for hr due diligence folks?
*No judgement zone* Just finished reading Expecting Better (LOVED it!) but I’m so curious - how many moms out there actually drank wine or beer while pregnant?? I would LOVE a small glass or two once in a while but I’m nervous.
I’m 28 weeks preg & haven’t has a job since December. I was in final rounds with 3 companies when COVID forced hiring freezes. Torn on whether I should keep looking (continued)
Looking for advice on the next step. So I started at my company just over 2 years ago as an entry level Sales admin with a split role and at the beginning of this year I moved fully into Sales Support and I'm kind of at a point where I coordinate and support the activity of my team, I fully process all orders and manage/maintain our CRM system, provide monthly & quarterly reports for our senior management team. Is this it? Am I at the top end of this role and need to ask for more progression?
Hi y'all I have a first round skills-based interview with Accenture within their wealth management capital markets practice. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
Anyone interested in a new gig at a major private CPG in Sarasota? We’re hiring for a senior account lead on the communications side, and can’t seem to find a resume for anyone with the chops to handle the high-level leadership work.
MBB 🐠 - For those who are actively seeking, why are you doing so? Is the MBB hype really worth it? Several from my UG have stuck around at BCG so I am curious to see what makes people stay vs leave.
What’s the best place to post a room for sublet? Also has anyone had luck subletting rooms during covid?
Got a call from an AWS recruiter for an L7 Principal TAM position. Any thoughts? She mentioned total comp maxes out at $300k, which is approx 25% below my target for jumping. Am I being too greedy?
EY leadership has no boundaries. My husband is working in a project where they are in critical phase of testing and delivery of the system. His leadership calls him at 6am in the morning for status updates when they know for sure that he was up till 2/3 am working. I am asking him to put foot down but it seems he is the only one with the required knowledge. Venting ends. Thanks for hearing me out.
Just transferred offices and from audit to FAAS a week ago in hopes of working on transactions. However, I also just got to final round interviews with a boutique IB. Would it be a bad career move to exit to IB so soon after all the networking effort I put in to transferring?
Have Deloitte promo timelines gotten considerably longer recently? Have heard about: A -> C = 3 years, C -> SC = 4 years, SC -> M = 4 years. Is it the same across other B4 firms?
Curious to know how do S& and PwC Life sciences work differ? Do they work on project together?
I just took the absolute best video of my baby laughing for 30 straight seconds and I am fighting the urge to send it to all my contacts (99.9% of whom likely do not care). The grandparents loved it though.
Thoughts on internal audit at big 4?
Always thought I would be with a NYC guy on fun, fancy dates in my future. Realizing now that everyone wants casual there, and in my hometown (here for covid), I make significantly more than most guys I go on dates with, many haven’t gone to college, but we have more similar interests and they are interested in a serious relationship. It feels like I’m settling and I’m so jealous of the people who do have the fun, exciting life in the city I dream of.
Anyone from S& based out of Indianapolis available to chat? Interested to hear about culture/office. Have 1 YOE and seeing some associate roles promoted. PwC
Why does the third party recruiter I am using perform reference checks, and not HR/hiring manager from the firm I am interviewing with? Curious.
Do any of the top consulting firms have analytics roles (preferably not super technical) that don’t require weekly travel?
