HHS.gov" class="linkified" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >HHS.gov so I basically work for the worst boss I have ever had in my life. I filled out all the disability paperwork and told her I was disabled, but now she’s angry that I have doctors appts to go to and I don’t owe her an explanation, but she doesn’t have any compassion or empathy. She even asks me to change times which I can’t since I make these appointments 6 months in advance bc they are all specialists for my incurable chronic pain disorder and being disabled, WTF
Anyone willing to refer me at Deloitte?
Booz Allen. IMO we have a fantastic W/L balance, PTO is very fair (I had 3 weeks as a first year consultant) and we don’t have utilization metrics like Deloitte. Depending on your level the ‘working for free’ will vary, but I have never done a week more than 55 hours here, and average is around 40/45. Please note that with all that being said, it is highly unlikely you could make similar compensation here.
I have to agree with other BA poster. No place is perfect, but I can schedule my leave a year out and buy tickets 6 months out. Compensation may not be like the Big 4, but I’m content knowing that I won’t get calls at home and eat dinner with the family every night
InDev. 150 person operation. I was blown away by their recruiting and hiring process. They focus on tech and cyber.
Lol nope not new. Very happy with my management chain and team. Never overworked (although work can be dry) I have minimal complaints!
SC1 so glad to hear it and so pleased for you!
I’ve never had a problem with taking all of the PTO I’ve accrued and taking it whenever I wanted to (for the most part) and I wouldn’t work some place where that would be an issue.
OP, I'm in the same boat. Tomorrow is my last day. Going to a smaller firm, more money and a better work/life balance. There is hope.
Thanks SC1! Appreciate it.
Wtf...make up your PTO? Doesn’t that defeat the point of PTO?? Now that I got that out of system, concur with SC1, BAH has really good PTO system. EY’s PTO is messy, but people respect your work/life balance and you are not expected to make up that time.
Agree with @SC1: former Boozer & I can definitely attest to the PTO/utilization policies being sane...Although I’ll also say I worked myself half to death to try to make Associate [i.e., Manager], only to turn it down because the compensation was garbage. Comes to whether less $ for relatively better work-life balance is a worthwhile opportunity cost to you.
Unemployment let's you take as much PTO as you want. No cap. No utilization. No snapshots.
Seconding all the BAH comments here.
Interviewing with BAH tomorrow, actually. Any tips?
D1 - where?!
Sure thing
SC1 - What is in your Kool-Aid?! You must be a newbie!
Deloitte. I take it. And that is nonsense that you have to make it up
D3 - those of us who are on capped projects and/or have bench time don’t have that luxury
Be personable and be prepared. What group does the job you’re interviewing for fall under? DIG? SIG?
