Cause the private sector side looks down on federal experience and people don’t want to take a step back in terms of level or firm (or even comp in rare cases).
And yet now our sector is flooded with the cvs of desperate private beach goers
As D1 said, to do it I took a demotion and a pay decrease. Got multiple raises during th year at firm 1, a year later I jumped firms again and got 80% increase in comp year over year
Haven’t had issues interviewing at FAANG. All about framing your experience.
I match/exceed the quals for 2 Google positions and have referrals. Think I framed my experience appropriately since I’ve actually done the job they describe in the JD. Still got immediate rejections. Have any advice?

I like the public sector and honestly consider it a risk to go into private sector consulting (as I live in DC). I had 3 offers to change jobs recently and removed the private sector consulting option 1st...
I’m worried that I’ll be stuck in the public sector. I’ve gone back and forth throughout my career but I’m worried that I’m just not as creative or achieving as much in the public sector as I could be in the private sector. I guess that’s the trade-off?
Honestly ... Network within your firm. Young be surprised what can come from that. Also a good idea to keep your Rolodex diversified in this business
