Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?
How early is too early to ask for a raise?

Working in community agencies can be hard. You tend to have high case loads and other duties put on you. I would get clarity on what the case load expectations are if you go that route. Working for private or group practices can have unstable pay based on how many people your seeing. If you can I'd find something outside of a state agency, CSB, and something that gives you regular pay. In my area $40,000 is about the standard if your working for an agency. Agencies aren't bad if your just getting into the field. They do offer a lot of training you don't have to pay for, and you get experience. Just know what you're getting into. It depends on what you're wanting.
