Are ya’ll noticing a bunch of strategy director roles that seem to be open for more than a month or so? And reposted? I wonder what that’s about. Salaries too low? Not being able to find talent? Or candidates not wanting to work for these places.

Yes, a lot of the openly posted jobs aren’t real. Saw a Strat Director role from BarkleyOKRP for months, until they laid off half of their agency recently and I don’t think they ever hired for that role. I think in some cases, they’re trying to make it look like the agency is doing better than it is. Scummy behavior

One probably causes the other. I’m noticing that people who got hired during the post-COVID employees’ market have higher salaries and are stuck in their roles. So it’s probably an issue finding talent, even with people being laid off. And of course, the people who have been laid off would want a role at the same or better salary.

Also Holding companies have horrible reputations right now (which are for the most part, well deserved.)

Has anyone ever posted a general marketing position? We have an open position on our marketing team but we are unsure what type of position to offer. We have a wide variety of needs but don’t necessarily need to have this future person have all these skills. For example we need someone with great copywriting skills and also need someone who is great at digital marketing. This person doesn’t necessarily need to have both skills but if they did great, but if only one, great too.
