Why do I have to be a fan of either?
SM2 - OP’s question was which side people here are on. They did not reference ICE. The military parade OP mentioned was not for ICE, so not sure how that is relevant when talking about the military parade. People can be in support of the military and not in support of how ICE is operating and also not support the No Kings demonstrations.
The military parade is awesome! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sir or Ma’am, this is a Wendy’s
Was at the No Kings protest just up the road. Large turnout.
Saw a couple pictures of the military "perade" and it looked pretty sad and low energy. Anemic attendance.
Anemic attendance, herculean cost
Doge missed the parade spending I guess
The military 💯

No Kings
A few of my random thoughts.
It's unfortunate that these two things have been set in opposition. The main reasons we don't currently have a king is the US Army. I think you can support the Army and not want a king at the same time. The parade highlighted the history of the Army. Including defeating the British (King of England) and fighting the Nazis in WW2.
I understand why people see these as opposites. I just wish it wouldn't be framed that way. It would be nice if the media had made this more about the history of the Army. And just leave President Trump out of it.
Armed Forces. At least I know I paid for it. Not like the NGO fraud the gets money to the anti Birger King crowd. Not organic at all.
Parades are imp , it serves as catalyst to unite a diverse country like the US.

You mean the parts where they don’t think Ukraine is part of Russia?
Nope. Parade was great!
America was founded to get away from Kings and to be a nation of the people for the people and by the people. Not one person controlling everything. You might as well move where they have a king if that is what you want!!
A parade to celebrate a 250 year milestone is not unreasonable, however I do question the intelligence of displaying our equipment in operation in a public setting where it’s televised around the world.
That said we spend more on golfing and championship trips than the parade costs so there are better and easier places to start with the trimming.
And yes you can be a moderate on the different sides issues, it’s a matter of opinion versus actual voting. As lots of red and purple states have shown, you can vote Republican but also vote Proabortion access.
And yes I am speaking as a high earning, independent voting, veteran.

Why has Glassdoor turned into a political bickering fest recently?
The fact that you all think that the press reports the goings on for every military base we have is both amusing and concerning.
Yes a NATIONAL parade in DC on the National Mall.
But that’s not the only place parades are held.
Perhaps it’s in your definition of what a parade entails. Mine is any time I had to put on the dress uniform and march in formation down the streets for the “show” of the general public.
yours seems to involve the media.
BTW I hate to burst your bubble but not ever the President is aware of everything that goes on concerning all of the military bases.
I grew up in a small town of about 2,000 people. The town had a 4th of July parade every year. My favorite part of it was the local national guard group marching and the machines they drove. Free candy was also pretty cool.
My parents now live in a larger city of 40,000. That town also has a parade on the 4th. And I still think the military is the coolest thing to see.
@ BDO 1 the parade was largely funded by corporate sponsorships.
As a child of the 60s and 70's I applaud peaceful and violent free protests. But when they become violent, I will have nothing to do with them. It's obvious that there are agitators infiltrating the protests and are getting off on the violence that they instigate. I am against the same thing, but the protests are OTT AND TOO VIOLENT. Have the protesters thought about the innocent people that they are hurting? Burning their cars, property and businesses does nothing to put a dent into Trumps stupid ideals.
Yep. Poor google and their torched waymos.
what does this have to do with accounting?
