Hi Fishes,
I am going to switch for the first time.
If anyone can tell me it will be quite helpful that how to ask for the CTC in such a way that if i ask for certain range and its high and they don't want to give it to me as per my current CTC. atleast I will get an offer letter so that i can negotiate with other companies on top of that. Currently I don't have any offer letter in hand. Tata Consultancy Accenture Infosys Deloitte Wipro

Post like this make us single earners feel inadequate.
Me and my wife use to make 30L combined 6 years ago and we both earned roughly same . Unfortunately she had to quit job to take care of kid, and it was a big financial downgrade for us.
It took me 5 more years to reach the combined salary level but by this time inflation would have eroded the value and we should have been earning 60L if she was still working.
Fortunately i had made some good investment decision and life without debt. Was earning 20L additional form my investment alone.
So 50L till recently was my total income.
But this was not enough i had to make up for the loss of extra income.
So i switched recently for 100 percent hike which takes my CTC to 64L and i still additional 20L from my passive investment.
I am now at par compared to my colleagues earning double income. I would be happy with my 30L salary had my wife not quit.
Sure
85 collectively for both...Investements bring another 30-40 lakhs a year....We spend around 6-7 lakh a year...Rest is invested and growing tremendously

Our salary is 19 LPA and we spend together.
I am happy to see many of the couples are sharing expenses and planning for finances together.
For me it is different. Our joint income is 28lpa, i get 23 out of it. I don't expect my wife to equally contribute. I am happy if she takes care of any specific cost category, like petrol/ rent/ subscription/ vacation plans etc.
Unfortunately that does not happen. She actually spends zero. And her argument is as i am a man, it is my responsibility to take care of all expenses. However, she does not believe in taking care of all household work, like a housewife would usually do, and expect me to contribute too, telling she is working woman and can't be expected to do all work. We have a maid who takes care of dishes and cleaning/ mopping everyday. Of course, i give maid her salary too
My wife is from Bihar. Their family is weirdo as fucks, down to their bone. My mother in law is actually the person who advised my wife not to spend a penny, and save for future. I have talked with many other people from same state, and they all share similar thoughts. Our country is progressing, my ass! This is not the only instance where I lost my respect for my in laws, have experienced similar regressive mindset on many occasion, specially in the areas of superstition and black magic. Who the fuck believes in such things in 2022? Btw, they all are well educated and rich. For sure, money can't buy everything and degree can't earn you wisdom
My mom is a retired professional and she worked for 32 years straight. My parents both took care of expenses. They still do and they are above 62 now. It is a shame to see people from few communities are still so orthodox and full of filth.
Give her sometime or may be there is alot salary diffrence that's why she don't spend much.
But yes little contributions she should do
What's your combined age?
