Question about solo/self-employed 401ks: If I create a sole-member LLC for a side business and create a solo/self-employed 401k, am I only allowed to make contributions from the earnings earned via the LLC? Or am I allowed to contribute money earned from a different source (ie W-2 job).

Anyone else pretty terrible at managing their own finances? I have an embarrassingly little amount of cash saved.

I am trying to justify house buying in HCOL city. The house cost is minimum 1.4m .monthly mortgage would be at least 7k(with just around 2k principal) rest goes to either int,tax. I regret not applying to Harvard. I never thought I’d get into a top school and then got into wharton with a 100k fellowship - which changed my entire perspective. It sucks thinking “what if…”. I just didn’t have the confidence and thought wharton was a reach so why bother with H/S 🙃 hope this inspires someone to just shoot their shot - you never know
