As an applied mathematician/2nd year post-doc, with publications on dev biology in Nature Comms, what kind of roles could I apply for?

I see mainly bioinformatics/biostatistics positions in most pharma companies, however, so far I worked mainly on modeling and computer simulations and I am not a strong statistician rather a strong programmer.

Is there still a demand for mathematical modeling/computer simulations nowadays?

It’s Friday night at midnight and I just got out of work. I am new to FPP defense. So far it’s soul crushing. I feel like a robot just doing the same pattern pleadings and discovery over and over. If I try to be creative or ask questions I get the response that I should not recreate the wheel… basically just cut and paste. My brain feels like it’s going to rot doing this work. Does it get better or do I need to plan my exit to a different field ASAP?

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay.
