Just started a new job two weeks and I’m pretty sure I’ve accidentally pissed off a VP. Basically it was a miscommunication on who was doing what after a meeting we had. My boss (also a VP), myself, and two others felt we would do it one way - with me being the main contributor, and apparently the other VP took it differently and had her team doing the same task. Now it seems she’s annoyed at me/us. How do I salvage this?!

Is it common to take a base paycut to go work at a startup (1 YOE)? Got an offer for a really cool role at a series c startup that allows me to pivot career paths. Technically it’s a paybump with equity considered but obviously that would need to vest over time.

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
