It’s Friday night at midnight and I just got out of work. I am new to FPP defense. So far it’s soul crushing. I feel like a robot just doing the same pattern pleadings and discovery over and over. If I try to be creative or ask questions I get the response that I should not recreate the wheel… basically just cut and paste. My brain feels like it’s going to rot doing this work. Does it get better or do I need to plan my exit to a different field ASAP?

This is the issue I’m having too in ID. It’s become so monotonous that I have asked for variety and different cases and tasks but it’s all the same. I need a job with more variety so I’m looking for a new job.

It varies by firm a lot. My last firm handled both basic slip and fall cases, etc. but specialized in very complex matters. The case load I worked on included financial fraud, negligent securities/premises liability (several included murder cases), MVAs involving multi-million dollar policies, property damage, and insurance coverage. I loved how interesting and varied it was, although the heavy nature of some cases started to contribute to my anxiety. I would start researching ID firms in your area and trying to dial in on what kinds of cases they handle.

Get out ASAP it doesn’t get better, super boring and it’s one of the lowest paying areas unless you have a book of business.

Hi all, How do you deal with having a good relationship with an ex-colleague, and then that person switches jobs, becomes a hiring manager, is hiring for a position you’re perfect for (experience + credentials) and then you reach out to them saying you’re interested and why it would be a good idea - and then they completely ghost you..I also sent an application via the website and got rejected. I am really always trying to help out old coworkwrs with getting jobs, but this is just frustrating 🥲
