I have 2 years and 7 months of experience as a DevOps Engineer. Currently working as Senior Software Engineer in a MNC.
I have worked on the tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Git (GitLab and GitHub)/Gerrit and Other DevOps Tool Chains such as Artifactory and Monitoring Tools. But not cloud experience like AWS, Azure (have on Premises cloud exposure).

I joined a project that had already started and the team already settled on creating a user journey map, even though none of them are designers or in ux. I also have no experience in this field as I'm a data engineer. The user journey map was for mapping out the process for tenants finding housing assistance, so not a technical product. I got an offer at Meta as a 3-mo contingent CSM that pays 2x what I make now.

Two pros: 1) Making the jump from a non-tech agency role to FAANG can be tough, so this is a great oppo in that aspect.
2) I'm living in SF on a non-tech salary, so the pay increase would be incredible.

It’s possible I could move into a similar role @ Meta once this expires, but to be safe, I'd need to start the job hunt again asap.

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.
