I made it the final round "panel" interviews with Amazon for a hardware engineering role. Anyone got any tips or experiences with Amazon interviews for a HW-oriented role?
It's 5 hours total, first two rounds are with managers. What I've done in the past is give as many examples as I could for HW solutions that I worked on highlighting the tech skills. Wondering if I can do more?

Is anyone willing to provide a referral for Spotify? (For a Senior Product Designer role) I am currently a Senior Product Designer / UX Lead. At the moment, I am interviewing with Meta and couple startups. But I’ve always loved the idea of working for Spotify, since it’s a product I’m passionate about. I thought I’d give it a shot before I consider other companies. Thanks so much!!

There are analyst that may be more senior in time at level, specific skill, testing to see if an analyst could fill a consultant role, or consultant came available after speaking with you. As for improving the outcome, there's little you could do in the examples cited. Consider working on executive presence, yeah fuzzy, look at how you communicate and try to notice the differences. It could help to record yourself answering questions and recognize the differences of those that have the presence. Tone, word choice, pace, filler words. It could be your project experience wasn't as good as another candidate for the specific role. You'll fill out your skill set as you develop.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Made me feel better and energized for next week! 🤗
Yeah, it happens. I sometimes have clients that don't want to pay for analyst at the last moment and rather spend more to get consultants. Also, sometime the scope changes or work streams are re-organized and different presence is needed...this doesn't mean you did a poor job.
There's so many factors on what could've happened OP that I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. A lot of times someone gets on the project from a prior relationship and things happened to work out last minute. I wouldn't take this personally. Keep networking and working on how best to sell yourself to the next project that comes along!
We often will "interview" when someone has skills "kind of like" what is needed or the description leaves room for interpretation to see if the person could fit. Other times, an ideal fit comes from a random email or chat with a colleague. It doesn't necessarily mean you did a bad job or even could do a better given your experience. It might mean you didn't interview well, but it could mean many other things. It's good you're trying to improve and keep looking for ways to get better. Keep in mind, the potential to do better doesn't equate to doing poorly. Stay positive, open to feedback, consider the feedback impartially, act on it, and decide if it worked. Avoid jumping to the conclusion you did poorly too quickly. Find someone you respect 2 levels above your current level and learn from them. You can do it either directly by asking or indirectly by observing guessing at how they would/should respond see what they actually do and the outcome. As you get better at predicting you know your instincts are getting better. Good luck. The firm is full type "A"s, we all want to succeed now, stay hungry, but remember a career is a marathon.
Why talk to an analyst to begin with if you prefer more experienced and senior resources?
SM1 i keep thinking that I should have the experience or skills already if they were interested and spoke with me. Which means I must have done a poor job at the interview and want to get better
