Hi all,
I joined KPMG around 3 months ago but I am not getting work here. Although, I qualified some project's interview, yet due to some internal reason, they considered someone else, and I again came on bench.
I am unable to figure out what can be done now.
Should I start searching work outside.
(I hardly see any job openings these days)

How's the resource management here?
(do they lagOff?)
Any inputs will be helpful.
Thanks!

Depending on the job Im applying to I remove my bilingual skill. And Im going to start saying “I prefer not to answer” in the optional question about racial background and just answer the gender and veteran status. Im tryna see something too!!
That's interesting! It's quite sad we have to do things like this, but thanks for sharing what's worked for you.
Not yet anyways

Can’t. TBH, my first name is a dead giveaway
Rising Star
Impossible because of my West African name.
But I’m sure that me being in Black organizations may turn some people off but I’m tired of being in places where people feel that way. I say this is a Black attorney and who is often the only or one of a handful of other black attorneys at a law firm.
Nope. They’ll know as I show up anyway, so…
I also have a distinctly Black name so they’ll know as soon as they see my résumé. Fine by me.
No. Not yet. What’s on your resume that concerns you
I have the same question as Counsel
Bias exists and all leaders have them whether they are positive or negative biases.
If you feel like you want to test the water, please do.
I’d encourage you to find your tribe and not worry the right team will find you. Focus on the value you add and the skillset.
Yes I had to use my English name
English name? Whats your “government name”?
Interestingly, I was told to do the opposite because of potential company DEI initiatives. I put that I was involved in Black organizations in school and post school, and i received several interviews from companies. Though most did not end with offers, I was interviewing
I have not
I feel the same and can't help but wonder. I get turned down on roles where i meet 100% of the requirements, yet I've had my resume professionally done and have received great feedback on it. I also edit it for specific roles to include keywords.
Still, I refuse to change my last name! Even though I could do justifiably by taking my husbands name :-/

I can’t say for sure but seems like I’ve been having a more positive experience when I changed from my African last name to my husband’s American one
No because profile pictures are on LinkedIn where most recruiters reach out with jobs. Somethings of course it’s real but lots of blacks have internalized racism. After therapy the world opens.
