You know how people inflate their resume/responsibilities. This is the biggest overstatement of an admin assistant… so yes $65K is appropriate.
I don’t think it was just you….
Literally no idea what you said. But yes it is inappropriate 😭😭
For record- as an entry level associate PM when I started years ago I was at 60k base and 9k-10k bonus. 2-3 years in I was at about 80k base and 9-10k bonus. MCOL.
HCOL?

Do you have 10 direct reports? Or are you managing projects involving 10 people.
Thank you so much!! This is helpful. Yeah I definitely don’t think I’m doing a job yet that requires 6 figures, but I can’t afford any rent in my area and feel my team has a lot of visibility so I was hoping to get a pulse on whether or not it was reasonable to ask for more. I just live in a super expensive area and am required to be in person and they don’t pay me enough to even live 50 miles away - I commute 60min+ every day. I’ll keep your advice in mind, I think I’m going to try and get my PMP and maybe another 6 months of experience and jump at the 2 year mark. Appreciate your detailed response!
Probably also depends on which industry. I started in similar role out of undergrad in finance industry. MCOL for ~75k base, 10k bonus so with info I see would say your offer is low. With that said for this role you also need to make sure upwards trajectory is possible or else it will turn into an admin role.
Thanks! Yeah I’m struggling to see what my upward mobility would be at this company which is why I’m looking around to go somewhere else
NO!
