Anyone's Senior Manager reached out for retention bonus ? I had a connect with my SM and they're offering me a retention bonus for 1 year kn February salary.

Wanted to see whether it's a firm wide initiative.

First round cleared in november 2021, then HR called after 2 months for second round in Jan 22, now discusses the salary after 2-3 weeks and then again says to get back.
No communication courtesy, just randomly calls up. Any thoughts on What might be going on? Is this how gartner process works?

Hey fishes, can someone tell me how the 80c bracket works, i know i can get exempt upto 1.5lakh under it, what i wanna know is does PF comes under it or not? For example if my yearly pf deduction is 20k and VPF is 10k so now will i still be able to show investment of 1.5lakh under 80c apart from PF and VPF or i'll be able to get exemption on only 1.2 lakh( 1.5lakh-30k= 1.2lakh)?

Taking my shot in tech sales. Consulting was great experience but enjoyed the relationship and BD aspect more and didn’t see myself climbing to partner. I am an senior associate at a small (8-10 attorneys) immigration firm in NYC. My base is 110k and I get 30% for the cases and clients I bring in. My revenue was 370k last year and I did 250k till April this year.

My issue is, I have so much firm's work that I have hard time to work on my cases/clients. It feels like my cases are supposed to be done after hours (like after 6 pm). My work hours are crazy. I feel this is unfair and since my firm's taking 70% of my sales. Should I ask for a raise?

Sanity check needed. We own a home we paid $280k for, 6 years ago. We've begun to outgrow it and are debating building on vs buying.

Building would probably be $350k, would take about 4 months, and would require us to move out temporarily (likely 50-75% of that time), but then we'd have *exactly* what we want. Buying would cost ~$650k (plus $59k in closing costs to sell and buy).

House is worth $400k if we do nothing; addition would likely double value.
