We don't have fixed cohort compensation, and there is a lot of variability within a level. If you have a specific number you're trying to get to, make sure your practice lead / people lead is aware of it well in advance (like 2 months beforehand) so they can advocate for you.
Second this. In general promotions are pretty standardized, i.e. a fixed percent based on your current pay, unless you are well below your range in which case they'll bump you up to the minimum range for the new title in your given market.
But, if you make your case 2-6 months before the promotion goes live, there is a good chance your manager will be able to advocate for you and get you to your requested number (assuming it's reasonable).
If you try to negotiate after you are given your number when your promotion goes live, it's possible, but a much more challenging effort (i.e. a second, high scrutiny, off cycle, approval process is needed, more effort for everyone, etc.) than just being upfront with what your compensation needs are.
Big4 promotion raises are usually within a fixed range. It’s likely the same at Slalom.
Not really a negotiation, unless you have an outside offer and the team you’re on values you enough to offer you more money to keep you.
