A top15 mba would be the fastest way. An mba will get you an average of 160k base salary. That being said that’s after 250k of debt (if not paying out out of pocket and/or no scholarship money) and the opportunity cost (for you that’s minimum 170k, 2 years salary, probably more considering raises). Also there’s additional expense depending on if you want to take advantage of traveling opportunities while at school and your lifestyle. All being said you need to invest between 400k - 500k (all expenses being considered) to get there. If you think an MBAs worth the cost go for it.
Prestigious MBA hands down.
Most money immediately would be the prestigious MBA, but then you have sent to contend with. Can make a lot with all of these or none of them… timeline would be the biggest variable.

Following also for ideas on how to pivot out of tax. I’m also in $80k range. Seems like prestigious MBA would be the most straight forward way to pivot, but obviously way more easily said than done.
D2: which school did you go to?

I’m in industry
But yea I’ve thought that too
I don't think a random unrelated designation (CFP/CFA) would make you any more money or help you pivot... and if you're a tax manager without the CPA designation, I doubt even that would boost you much, if at all...
Is a top MBA program really within your reach? Maybe.
Coding might be your only realistic option here.
I won’t argue that. Everyone definition of worth it is different. Look at the job reports of schools ranked 25 - 10 (there’s a couple ivies in that range, as regency) and see if worth it to you. I would argue yes but I can see if people see it otherwise

OP, I am curious about your comment elsewhere that your position is more “wealth management”. What specifically is your current job description? What type of tax experience do you have? If it is heavy on wealth management type things, then that is a bit different than if you were doing ASC 740 work in the tax dept of a company. FYI, in terms of maximizing pay for tax positions, ASC 740 experience is the money ticket. It’s hell, but it is very very valued by companies and pays well for those who are good at it. Big 4 experience + CPA + ASC 740 (international as well) in industry translates into pretty nice pay and is in very high demand.
You know I do find tax to be interesting
I’m also at a point I think I want to pivot to career with either higher $$$ potential now or work life balance
