I am hoping to retire before I turn 65. Housing and health insurance are the two largest issue I have at this point that keep me from retiring.

I think 45

I could retire in three weeks if I could find a solution for health insurance. That's the only thing holding me back!

Never. 😭 Wanted to do better than my parents. My mom worked until 78. l’m 52 and unemployed since August (yeah government) but need to work.

55 comfortably if I continue and don’t touch it. But high goal at 40-45. I’m 31 right now so a lot can happen between now and later

smart

52 which is right now if the government agency processes my application right now that should processed in Decembe 2025.

It depends on the saving, including cash, investment,… and retirement plan, pension, social security income and other incomes after retirement; minus spending like housing, foods, travel, health insurance and other costs…
Then calculate the balance for next 30 to 40 years. Then decide when is safe to retire for comfortable living for the rest of your life.

Hopefully at 65

62 with 2 pensions and disability. Have health insurance prior to 65. Blessed!

I started making plans and setting up a career post-65 when I was still in college. Then, it was based on following my passion to help others for the rest of my life. Now, a decade away from 65, it may be more about getting all of the bills paid.

Resources for an enterprise BDR?

Hello All,

I recently got a job working as a BDR for an enterprise rep. We sell a SaaS product for other tech companies. It is a new realm for me as I have been primarily an AE throughout my career.

What resources are out there to help me learn how to work these accounts (500+ person companies)? looking for tips on everything from writing email cadences, sending video messages, and even qualifying leads during discovery calls.

Thanks for the help!

If a person resigns on April month when yearly reviews are going to happen and bonus are being sent out.
So, can he get the performance bonus because he served the last whole year with dedication?

It would be helpful if managers can answer this because they are the people who approves or decline this request.

Any recommendations on negotiating telework (remote work) for a federal position that’s provided an Firm Offer? I was informed by an agency officer that my request can be considered if an offer was given along with my request for higher salary.
What suggestions does anyone have on doing that?

Hi! Anybody knows of federal agencies hiring that are offering fulltime telework/remote?
I currently work for an agency based in DC and my boss is forcing us to come back into the office fulltime after we’ve been remote for nearly two years. Majority of my coworkers have already left for the private sector but I’d like to remain in the public.

I work through a contractor, and was hired 2yrs ago to be a Systems Test Engineer II. They decided last minute to make me a Software Content Manager, but kept my title as is since it was supposed to be a 6mo rotation. I’m still an SCM, and am taking on leadership roles in the group. How do I ask for a title change and pay increase to reflect what I actually do? Do I ask my contract house, or my NASA mgmt? Should I ask to make the pay retroactive since I was hired to do one thing, but do another?

I just left a very toxic work place.
The crazy thing is they were just named the best local municipality to work for. It's upsetting. They advertise a "culture" but don'tapply it. It felt like a used car sales pitch, I was sold a dream but given junk. I am constantly replaying moments. I have read so many books and everything leads to they were the problem. How do I recover from this?

I had positions in private sector that allowed me to supplement having a degree with experience but not in public sector. A HR question I really want to understand. ISRS HR quoted a podcast "The not so great resignation" saying 70% regret leaving and many want to go back to old employer. If this really the case the employee likely left due to higher pay at the new company. If they want to boomerang back they will likely come back at even a higher rate than they left the new company for. So getting double raise when they boomeranged. Isn't it unbeneficial, why not just give employee a 7% raise in the first place?

Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? Tried researching this for hours but only found info on applying to other agencies.
