Bad decision to wear a $7000 Cartier gold bangle in the subways!?! If someone wants to rob me, they’d have to chop my hand off to get the bangle given it can only be unlocked with a screwdriver. 😫

It’s the same thing as wearing nice shoes or carrying a nice bag on the subway during rush hour. Don’t necessarily expect it to get stolen, but expect it to get scuffed, scratched, come into contact with bodily and other fluids, etc. If you’re cool with all of that, go for it

Anyone deal with this before: I inherited a severely under developed team including a sr analyst who clearly was doing the bare minimum, if that. Over the last 6 months I have had to coach him and correct simple mistakes in his work and recently it got so bad that I told him he would receive a low rating in his evaluation. He lashed out, involved HR saying he doesn’t understand why, and now my review points out stuff that I would have let slide.
