Experience hiring happens year round
2 years with ACN strat I have an interview at Bcg coming up, so possible.
A case can't be "yellow"... Who are you B2? And who hurt you? I know laterals (up to PL) that are thriving. Partners too, but that's a very different calculus.
Stay away. Lateral hire integration sucks. Most laterals done make it past year 1. You'll be treated like a second class citizen by those born green. The passive aggressive culture will sap your soul and you'll find the kids hired fresh green treated like royalty while you wonder how you'll ever fit in. And you won't have partner level relationships that are so vital in this business. Get smart kiddo. This place is for us born green. Sorry.
1.5 yrs of experience at ACN + 1.5 yrs of internship experience in UG

A2 would you have to start over as 1st year?
A1 yes essentially career reset, but doesn't hurt that much. Not a big setback long term.
Interesting point BCG2, but a lateral hire with 1.5 years of experience would just start as a new A1, and in my system at least those people get integrated pretty quickly.
BCG2 wtf, you sound elitist as fuck
Sorry you feel that way. On a very serious note please do your homework regarding lateral integration. If you do join then welcome and best wishes. Just remember this post and prove it wrong.
BCG2 might sound elitist but what if he's not the only one that thinks that at BCG 🙄
@BCG2 -- i respect your insight ( albeit,a bit elitist ) I'm not sure if i will feel as alienated as you make it out to be since I know a few people at the firm ( principal , consultants and a project leader). I'm sure due to pedigree difference , relationships etc all your statements are true though ... thanks for the honest feedback
Just to put your mind at ease. I'm as far away from elitist as you'd ever find. I wasn't eloquent or helpful. But I'm very sincere as this is a serious career decision and you don't want to be miserable. Thing is most people get acclimated to the "insecure overachiever" culture and don't even know what they're going through is PTSD. Why else do training programs include meditation, joyfulness and happiness training? Why else do those counseled out feel a ton of relief and then lose touch with the firm? It's fucking pressure cooker and make nonmistake about it. Get one case in the yellow and you're on the road to being toast. No one tells you that. No one will. They'll mask it nicely with fluff talk. But you'd know better. Best wishes in any case!
Truth hurts. :)
