Been actively job searching since I got laid off in July and the amount of fake job texts I'm getting is unreal. Went from maybe 1 a week to 3-4 daily. They're all so obviously scams but I'm wondering if this uptick means scammers know people are desperate right now? The timing feels too coincidental. Thoughts?

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? Wondering what I should do.

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.
