What are your strategies for kids who always do whatever they want?

Constantly throw pencils and erasers, talk, call out, wander into the hallway, etc.
We’ve agreed on expectations, modeled them, practiced during choice time, emailed home, but about 3 fourth grade boys in a class of 28 are always doing whatever they feel like and distracting others.
Ideas? I wish “clip down” charts weren’t frowned upon and I could do this and have them lose a concrete privilege each time.

I noticed a moms of advertising group and thought it would be great to start a Dad version. For discussion: work/life balance, how not to miss out on your kid’s growing up, and of course, dad jokes.

How do you ask your husband to do things? I don’t want to do everything, so I ask him sometimes and he may give me an excuse. To which I respond, well you’re on your phone you don’t have an excuse. And he’ll respond with “omg getting on my case again!!” This makes me feel like a parent and annoying. What is the best way to tell him this without getting into a huge argument?

I’m on month 3 of maternity leave and it’s been great being out of work but caring for newborn alone while husband is at work can be hard at times. I try to get out as much as possible but I’ve been thinking of starting daycare early.. early like next week. It’ll just be a few days a week at first until I go back to work which might be in June. Anyone have generator recommendations? Are there any that aren’t obscenely loud? Moved to a northern state with lots of snow and have a baby arriving during winter. Thinking I’d like to get a backup generator to give me peace of mind.

Moms who had babies during COVID, what are your childcare plans after maternity leave ends? We were going down the au pair route (also have a 2 year old) but that isn’t possible anymore. Live in nannies are super expensive, and my experience with live out nannies in the past has been terrible (mainly a reliability issue). Kind of stumped for ideas!

People who are married and staying at their native places - Do you find it difficult at times to manage the family relations, parent's expectations especially from your working wife? I sometimes feel getting too much dragged in these things. Just looking for opinion of others and if anybody can give some suggestions on how to handle these.

Can I get an amen from any moms working full time, same as their husband, and still expected to always be the default parent/sacrifice your own work responsibilities for Dad’s? Just needed to vent. 😡

About 6 months in as an associate in primarily commercial litigation. Have a feel for billable time on some matters, but certain types of motions or discovery requests I have almost no clue the “expected” time for something to be billed. Sometimes the partner will tell me an estimated time, but often they won’t. Is there a “cheat sheet” of sorts anyone has in terms of common billing times?
