Best thing you have splurged on lately?

A long weekend vacation that I'm going on next weekend. It's nothing terribly exciting - just driving up the springs from Southwest Florida for some kayaking - but I'm really looking forward to the time away with my girlfriend. We haven't been able to travel much lately, and while small, this is still something we've been looking forward to. How about yourself?

That sounds really nice! I am looking to get away and do something similar in a few months down the line, so saving for that

Steak. It was tasty.

Hope it was an expensive cut!

Well, money has been pretty tight. Cost of living is getting out of hand and my salary has been keeping up with inflation, so I have not had the opportunity to splurge much as it is. But today I did take my mom out for a nice lunch. I wish I was in a better financial position so I could treat my parents to more things like this but at least I pulled it off today.

Same boat, I think a lot of us are in it. A nice dinner or lunch is a treat though :)

Typing this as I'm currently flying to Kona Hawaii. So... that

Love that for you! Hope you had a great trip

Can anyone tell me what areas along purple line metro are the best to live in? My new workplace is near cubbon park and i have no idea about central Bangalore, or it even is central. I was thinking to get there using the metro line.

If someone can tell me some options that will be great.

Started at firm in second week of March and am at 1,700 right now, on pace for 2,000+. M&A 7th year. Who else is this busy? Keep reading M&A down across the board, but not feeling it here…

Obviously love the job security, but am at lockstep bonus firm and pretty sure at this point bonus will be on base scale last year, so kinda bummed about that.

I would really appreciate if someone from a similar role can have a look at my resume. It would be great if you could provide me with a referral too. Completely understand if that’s not in the scope :) any means of help is appreciated!

I love my SO. We’ve been together for nearly a decade and are talking marriage. I know being with him though will require living far from my family. I love my family and dread the thought of being far from them. My SO has been transparent about wanting to return to his home country. I don’t want to lose him but I also dread being far from my family. What’s the right call here? Fwiw he’s lived in my home country for about a decade now but has been able to visit his pretty easily (cont)

SOFI or who else?

Curious to know how much your student loans were when you graduated from your program, how much you’ve paid off so far, and your age. If you have any varying factors too, like kids, income range, etc. Just trying to see if I’m on track or slacking in life. I am 34 yo, i graduated with 95k in student loans, i currently have 85k left and i make 85k in come. I’m also a single mom with two kids. Just praying for 100% student loans forgiveness. Wishful thinking???

In a perfect world how much would you want to make a year to both pay off your loans and live a good life? I think I'd need to make upwards of $200k to pay off my loans, take care of my family and live a fulfilling life.

Damn LIBOR rate up again...

I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?
