Probably Frankfurt. Or connect in the US to get to turkey direct. I lost my luggage on a connecting flight through Paris and Amsterdam is a mess too.
I always go direct via ATL. I’ve gone through Lufhansa a few timet to Frankfurt. That airport sucks and Germans (yelling I don’t know!) were terrible at helping us find our carry on stroller. The airport as has crap food options as layover was about 3.5 hours
You can also take Turkish airlines which will directly drop you at Istanbul
It was cheaper for the direct flight. Round trip was like 900$/adult. November - Feb is damn cold in Istanbul btw (I enjoy cold weather so no biggie for me). One way is no issue and get your visa online and print it out. Immigration in is east. Leaving is crazy (they check your bags like 3 times lol).
Avoid CDG, recently stuck there for 8+ hours and they somehow lost my friend's luggage inside their airport
Air france is the superior airline on the list - also the best airport.
Take the one with a 2 hour layover. Or take a 8+ hour layover in Paris.
I ordinarily would say Amsterdam but Schipol is still having long security lines from outside the airport (so don’t leave the airport. In the airport is quite nice though)
I’d pick Amsterdam over Paris. Don’t have any experience with Frankfurt
Avoid Paris at all costs. The airport is confusing (we had to take a bus to another part of it and we didn't even know) and my bags have been delayed at least 3 times after flying through there
