Buyer of my townhome wants me to seal tiny gaps in my neighbor’s brick that surrounds the side of their garage that borders my home. There’s a clear distinction between their brick and my siding. Is this normal for townhomes? While their garage is next to my home it’s pretty clear it’s their garage, their property. Seems like the inspector made a mistake.

They’re also giving me a free long term occupancy until my new house is complete so I wouldn’t be asking this question had it actually been my townhome.

Tell them to find another house and take the next offer.

I would have the agent relay that message to them. If they are still sticking to their guns, based on a wrong assessment, I would just move on. I mean what are you even supposed to do, fix your neighbors property to sell your home lol

They are literally doing their job. That’s like giving a gift to the cashier at the grocery store after you pay.

Hard pass! You’re selling just stop with the crazy buyer requests. Have your agent tell the Buyer’s agent to get their client to calm down and have their own handyman do it. Or just say $80 for repairs to the buyer.

I have 100k to my name. I’m thinking of investing in by going in with 3 other family members and buying commercial units. I was taught to rent where you live and own your investments so your not tied to it and restricted. I have significant equity in a property (300k+) and maybe another 200k across other properties. I have a decent amount of money in cash and already 200k or so in stocks. We are renovating a condo and the previous owner had two Crane toilets (not sure how old, but functioning although seals are old according to our contractor). Back outlet flour mount ones are the only options for the building, and one toilet can cost $300-$500.

We are redoing all the bathroom tiles and walls and debating what we should do with the two toilets. Would resealing the toilets extend the use life? Or should we just replace the toilets? Any other recommendations? TIA!!

Bought a house with 10% down for 380k. Appraisal came in a 400k but now I’m doing renovations. Completely redoing both bathrooms in the house. Removing popcorn ceilings, installed new AC with new ductwork and insulation, installed a new tankless gas water heater and building out laundry room in garage. Should I refinance after this to get rid of PMI? Current rate for 30 yr is 2.625%. Aka is it safe to assume my appraisal can come back above 435k to equate to 20% equity?

For folks who bought their second home and rented out their first home, how much harder/easier it is to get a mortgage? Bought a condo when interest rates were low but thinking of buying a SFH in the next 1-3 years. I see two crowds these days. One thinks housing market will crash. The other thinks housing market will soar.

The contrarian in me makes me think this is a decent indication that housing market will stagnate (or increase minimally) for a few years.

As a general rules, I feel like the majority cannot foresee a crash/surge coming. The prevalence of such expectations would hamper the pre-conditions necessary for such a dramatic change.
