Hello fishes, need some guidance on the following questions - How is cognizant doing currently? Is it safe to join cognizant? How about the attrition rate, any improvement? How about job security? Do they layoff? Looking for some serious suggestions. I have a loan on me, and my package is low. And IBM doesn't give any hike. So was looking to switch. But afraid after hearing about current situation of cognizant. I am thinking several times before coming to a conclusion. 🙂 @Cognizant

I was offered $34/hour for a hospital position and I have 2.5 years experience
I made 30/hr back 30 yrs ago per diem out patient in chicago. It’s time for a raise don’t you think? Austin cost of living is so much higher than chicago was 30 yrs ago.

Thank you for sharing! What an eye opener!
Check the Bureau of labor statistics. Ask any colleagues you know in those settings what's a ballpark range. Ultimately, ask for what you think you are worth and what meets your financial needs.
I just moved to this area from across the country . I don’t have any colleagues in the area to ask. I wouldn’t be asking here if I did. And the BLS doesn’t have the info I need specific to city and setting
In Tx. there are 2 rates bilingual and non bilingual + your experience. In DFW which is a similar demographic as Austin, Im in HH pay per session rates vary from40-48 (experience/skills/certifications) etc. I hope this helps.
Join the SLP Austin group and you will get a good idea. I honestly wouldn’t accept anything anyone has said they are currently making. I am getting $43 an hour working remotely for a school out of Houston (with benefits), and $58 an hour working PRN for SNF in DFW. I have also recently held one HH position that paid $50 per 30 minute session and $85 per eval and another HH position that paid $75 per 30 minute session and $125 per eval. Hope this helps!
