Can anyone share what their experience is like moving from somewhere like IQVIA/Symphony/Komodo to being in house for a small to medium size pharma company? I’ve heard being at the pharma companies themselves can be a lot mor lucrative but also much more intense and lacking any WLB. Interested to hear anyone’s experience :)

In what world is industry worse WLB than consulting?

like

I of course know this would vary immensely between different types of jobs/areas of the company- but just trying to get an overall sense :)

Whats ur current role at the vendor? Iqvia is a big company, so if ur in data sales that differs wildly from market access consulting.

The more natural path is from consulting for pharma and then them bringing you in house.

Which do you hate more?
a) Low WLB
b) Backstabbing

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

I’m currently a compliance specialist, I work primarily with Secretary of State in all 50 states and I manage filing and formations of new companies, filing and tracking annual reports, filing amendments, withdrawals, and dissolutions. Are there any companies hiring for this type of work?

Recently left the Big4 without a job lined up. I’m hearing all my friends talking about busy season woes and I’m so grateful to not be in that position. I keep thinking of the long hours and it’s making me not want to job hunt. I’ve been looking at industry related tax roles, and generally like accounting but am open to exploration. Is there any such role that gives good comp, great work/life balance (I don’t even wanna be near 60 hours), and overall interesting role/company?

Monday Morning rumination: unsolicited advise is criticism.

Much to reflect on with this topic. Last week I was told in a 1:1 with a new contact that I was “too direct”. After some time chewing on the conversation I was struggling to place the emotions I was feeling. Turns out I was feeling guilty and shame for being me, for taking up space. Lesson of the week: unsolicited advice is a criticism of you, a micro aggression of who you are, and being “too much”. What would you do??
