Don't join CBA. CBA is not safe anymore ... On 17-Jun-25 , around 400+ people got notified to drop resignation. They gave 2 months notice to serve and leave. It's happened for QA and BA roles. Soon it will start for Dev, PO & Managers.

It's a very big organisation with thousands of repo.
No one knows what business unit and what project/module you will be joining.
Making vague assumptions or statements about whether you will get good development work or not will not put a clear picture.

A lot of exciting work and transformations are happening too. Modernisation to newer tech stack brings its own challenges(positive and negative) and learning opportunities.

However, I am sure there would be many teams with less ,no or repetitive work because I keep seeing a lot of familiar faces sitting in the cafeteria most of the time.

Try connecting with the PO, squad leads. Ask your recruiter to help set up some time.
Although a lot of times during the interview they do put forward their vision.

Anyone here choose between A&M, Alix, and some other usual suspect consulting companies? What made you pick A&M? Do employees generally tend to stick around? How is the culture, decent folks or sharp elbows everywhere? Is the total comp as good as advertised or is this false advertising? Is commute from herndon(near frying pan road) to ft Belvoir or mead or crystal city or DC really bad? I have some offers but from Google maps it says up to 50 mins one way... not sure if it's too much... but the pay is decent
I do have ts sci with ci poly and have Java experience. Ideally maybe Reston, chantilly,herndon, Fairfax best spots...30 min or so commute. Looking around 200
