Anyone have good examples of how senior leadership supports project teams during crunch periods (especially if they created the situation)? Trying to articulate specific behaviors that will help our PMs not end up being the “deliverer of bad news” that ppl have to work overtime, especially if the same PMs already advocated for their teams in convos with senior leads.

For the folks who do freelance work, do you do more consulting / advisory (get on the phone and talk) or project work (deliverable based work)? What are your thoughts on a platform that focuses on video-conference based advisory work - and not the bid on project type of work?

I’m a senior planner leading one brand and there’s a new strategist on the team working on a sister brand. They’ve been asking for every strategy deck I’ve made on that brand as an example to go by to inform the thinking/flow on the sister brand. Also because I mentioned it went well with client when they ask. All for sharing thinking w/ the team & I know we feel imposter syndrome to varying degrees, but I also feel like it’s good for planners to find their own voice/style/flow. Thoughts?

Only senior on a demanding client, managing multiple staff and managers. I really like my team and the work but I’m starting to lose motivation and burn out after the long time being the only one in my position here... and I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but feels like I don’t get fairly paid for the amount of time and effort I put in... any advice to get out of this negative mindset?

How do you get good at thinking on your feet? I find I always need time to think and analyse before being able to answer client queries (even those that are considered simple by others). I don't want to rush and get it wrong. I avoid phone calls for this reason which isn't great when you're in the service industry so it's starting to impact my career.

Gay man who works in a large org that is big on diversity and inclusion efforts. I’d say about 50-60% of people (at all levels, across all age groups and races) list their gender pronouns in email signature. I list mine because I see it as a way to show support for colleagues who may not be cisgender. If anyone else works in the same type of environment, do you infer anything about colleagues who choose not to list their gender pronouns? (such as they are homo/trans phobic?)

Would love to get insight from folks here as I’m not quite sure what to do. I currently have around 14K in student loan debt and enough saved up to pay it off in one fell swoop. What I’m struggling with is whether I should invest that money into the stock market (thinking less risky S&P 500 ETF) and pay off my student loans monthly with the average payment being around 1000 so I can pay it off in about 16-18 months (due to interest being around 5%) or pay it off all in one go?
