Hello Guys,
I Got one Offer from Fynd but that is too low for me and as per my expereince
They are giving me 9 LPA bcz I quoted that amount when I applied for it long back. at that time I didnt know more about how salary and all calculated and whats the market research
Now after clearing all the rounds when we meet for salary discussion i told him my real desired salary as per experience and market reseach
He told me that I quoted 9 LPA so we can not do more "unless you have any counter offer"
I wish this was more lively.

is the expat highly awarded? if so, your agency is hoping to they bring their "magic" to your shop.

So silly.
There could be a skills gap that can’t be addressed with local talent, hence bringing in an expat. Clients may also want expats on their account because they bring experience from different markets/regions. But I’m a big proponent of promoting locally whenever possible - and for any expats brought in to groom their successor from within local teams.
Because they believe in being pro-immigration
Oh yea, I went there.
They probably don’t think whoever is up for the role internally is very good. Or they think they’re good but want to keep them doing the brunt of the grunt work
Could be a number of things — relevant past experience; new client relationships; prestige; clients share a cultural connection to expat employee; category expertise; nepotism; and/or a combination of the above.

Do you believe Americans should get these jobs? Tell me more…

Yes and they’re taking ‘er jobs!
Are they Brazilian?
Brazilian, Australian, or British.
Is it a holding company-owned agency? Transferring someone over from an overseas office, even with visa fees (if paid) taken into consideration, sometimes means you can get an award-winner who’s paid peanuts comparatively to a full US salary.
That’s not always the case in my experience. Have had two transferees (one creative, one strategy) who netted out slightly more due to tax benefits. After several years they were making more than their US colleagues.

Getting promoted from within is always hard, regardless of whether they’re hiring an expat or just someone outside the agency. The thing is, when you’re good at your job, promoting you means they’d be losing the person who is killing it in that position- and then they’d have to hire someone to fill your shoes who might not measure up. So it’s almost always better to jump, or threaten to, if you want that bump, because internally they look at it as fixing something that’s not broken.
It’s really paradoxical, the better you actually are at the job, the harder it is to get promoted out of it. It’s the people that play politics really well that manage to move up internally.
